Time to tweet

Editor walks from Night Desk to Late Editor.

"Anyone hear from Environmental Affairs Reporter yet?"

"Nope," says Late Editor. "She's still in that meeting?"

"They just voted," I volunteer.

"How do you know that?"

"I've been following it on Twitter," I say.

Late Editor laughs.

"(Environmental Reporter's) been tweeting?"

"Nope. But the Sentinel reporter has... Wait. Lemme check... Yep. It was approved 5-4."

"It's been approved 5-4," Late Editor echoes to Night Desk.



As if I need more evidence about the value of Twitter. More reporters really need to buy in to build our social media presence and community reputation. The phenomenon's not going anywhere any time soon.

(Btw, the story was up on the Sentinel's Web site minutes later. Not quite up on ours yet.)
