Passages

For the one who resides inside me, who walks beside me, even when he can't.

There's power in the silence of the walk
with fingers entwined, steps in stride.
A cool wind whirrs leaves muffling
wayward sirens in a mountain
that shelters the blue valley below.
Peace cuddles up the spirit of two;
love on epic wings of life's passions
and chosen bonds that rent asunder
freedom to be singularly one.
Challenges unexpected
committment besieged
ceaseless in this tumultuous time;
the life, realities and truth tested
when temptations rushed unyielding tides
of raging seas forcing wills to bow
before gods, myth and passing clouds.
Battered souls, wounded ids struggled
and fought terrors of faith mutual to each.
Fire conquered, fury of storms calmed.
They savour last season's vintage,
and no words repeal the quiet of night.
It's superfluous to say I love you
for the spirits of two became one
in them and with God.
